 Thanks to my son Izaak for posing (he loves it really) The guitar is a Gretsch and I love it to death, it's my favorite guitar for jamming on as it has such a rich tone.

Lightroom and used recovery to get the blown areas a bit more balanced, a touch of fill light to highlight the face a bit, desaturated.

Opened in photoshop, Lucisarts first wipe was quite strong to pump up the contrast then noise ninja to smooth it out a bit, another light run with lucis to get the texture i wanted.

I like this shot (that's why I submitted it) I drove a total of 5 hours to get these shots but it was a great day out and my wife hanae had never seen the English sea before so it was great fun to see her face light up too.

I know it could be hit or miss but the memory of this day was a big HIT for the family..

Really admire the composition, but not so keen on the b/w conversion - not something I am any good at myself, so I can't offer anything constructive, I'm afraid.
