Challenge: Upside Down II (Basic Editing)
Collection: Challenge Outcasts
Camera: Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT
Lens: Canon EF 28-135mm F/3.5-5.6 IS USM
Location: Palmwoods lagoon lined with paper bark trees.
Date: Aug 4, 2007
Aperture: 3.5
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/15
Galleries: Black and White, Water
Date Uploaded: Aug 6, 2007

At first, I was so worried about this challenge, but I did exactly what the challenge was called, "Upside Down".

Yes, I turned my canera upside down, and took some photos.

Some of them were ok, some were not so good, but this one I liked.

I processed this image from a raw format in photoshop, and turned it into black & white, with gradient map.

If one can see closely, one can see the ripples in the reflection of the moving water, in the top half of this image, due to a couple of duck swimming by.

This reflection shot works very well for the challenge theme. Very nice symmetry. The B/W works well also and you've done a nice job covering the full tonal range. Congrats, and good luck!

Awesome, just awesome. Love the rich tones that you've captured here. The "horizon" looks tilted but it doesn't really bother me because that could easily be the way it is. One of the best shots in this challenge. Going into my faves.

Great idea but the black and white somewhat distracts me.

Overall, too busy for my tastes - but I like how you brought a level of abstractness into it by de-saturating the image.

Whoa that makes me dizzy to look at! You can't tell where (I'm guessing) the reflection begins/ends & the real life begins, funky!

Not so sure it gives me a feeling of tranquility.
Wonder if it would in color..
Hard to decipher but appreciate your efforts..
