This is a great shot, you have really captured 'despair' well. The fingers digging into the shoulder help to reinforce the rest of the pose. The lighting is excellent, the colder colours at the top of the frame almost 'descending' upon him. The only improvement that I can suggest is to leave more space on the left of the frame to move the subject away from the centre. Cropping more tightly on the right would have him facing into 'emptiness' more, but then that would break up the shadow which would not be so good.

figured Id help with the comments! I love this picture very powerful imagery! 6.9 is a pretty deadly score! you desearve it. I think I would have put the subject slightly more off center personally!

HEre you go. I'm giving you comment 980. :) this photo is fantastic. Congrats on a well deserved score and placement. The composition is perfect. I like the colors, which seem to add to the almost dreamy effect here. It certainly adds to the emotion of it.

Compositional I think I'd do this different (out of the center, more to the left) but this makes it more YOU I guess.. ;)

I do like the colors, but the treatment of the rest of the photo just isn't my thing ;)

i like the technical aspects of this shot but i must say the formula is used quite a bit and becomes a little tiresome, but this is not a knock on a fine picture, just my opinion

Look at it this way, you came in first in the "Negative Extreme Emotion" subchallenge. :) Sorry about falling one short of a H.M. It's a nice shot however.

I love the soft glow in this photo...curious to know if that's from lighting or post processing. Nicely executed! I think you could get away with cropping a little more off the top, to bring the impact of the photo in a little tighter.

Good job showing emotion and the lighting is also well done. I think I would've liked this better in B&W though...

This will probably ribbon. Well done
As I see this picture again and again, the bright area and the vertical line in the corner distract/buther me more and more. I know this is basic editing so there was not much you could do about it...but I had to say it.

This is nice, I really enjoy the model himself. It might have been fun to have his big toes crossed as well. What I don't care is for the walls and floor, they just don't seem to go with the model. Maybe that was the point, but they distract me a bit.

Very well done. I like the lighting and texture of the image. Your image does indead display extreme emotion better then the majority. I like the sharpness and PS work you have done. This image will be in the top 10 for sure.

Nice image. The model fits the bill nicely and the grungy look suits the image too. I am not too sure about the lighting though, although I can't quite put my finger on the problem. I think maybe the walls are little bit too bright. Nice image all the same though, well done.

excellent image - the lighting is very dramatic. the tones and smoothness on the man really contrast nicely with the sharp linkes and harshness of the wall and floor
