Hehe, but considering the awful and sometimes very funny translations of Babelfish, I'll stick to English though. I think even my German-to-English is better than Babelfish's ;-)
09/16/2002 11:22:00 PM
stephan - i enjoyed your comment, and plugged it into babelfish.altavista.com which actually gave a half-way decent translation for once. i actually thank you for commenting in German, because it just makes things so much more interesting :)
09/16/2002 09:23:00 PM
Ooops. I thought that you speak german when using such a title and somehow I felt invited to comment in german. But it wouldn't be fair to all the other non-german users who look through other people comments, either. Sorry about that. So here is the translation:
"Hey, i'm probably the only one who gets the title ;-) Good idea with the milk! Nice contrast of colours white/red/green. I probaly would have used only three strawberries, because I find asymmetry more exciting. A little sad that the milk spills out of the photo, but overall a good stop motion photo."

Thanks to everyone for the comments this week. Yes, I know I left the "green bits" on, but I thought the strawberries would look funny without them, and I liked the added color. The title is German and translates to "Four Strawberries." I'm not German, and I don't speak German, but when I'm trying to come up with witty titles for my pictures, my roommate is always suggesting that I translate a normal boring title into Spanish for added artistic effect. "Cuatro Fresas" didn't really have a great ring to it, so I went with German. I've always loved the sound of the language, anyway.

If anyone is interested, I edited the background and some of the blurs of this shot for a print quality version. I've posted it here: //www.photosig.com/viewphoto.php?id=307160

Thanks again for all the kind comments.

-stephan

Great shot! Either you got this one on the first attempt or you ate a lot of cereal and berries this week.
09/15/2002 03:08:00 PM
Really great shot!I like the stop action of the milk, the color, crisp focus. The only little thing I would have changed is to have a solid color bowl- no design. One of my top 5!
09/15/2002 06:37:00 AM
Very nice. I can just see this on a cereal box. :)
09/14/2002 09:43:00 PM
great lighting, excellent colour rendition
09/14/2002 08:27:00 PM
Not quite as tempting as a cereal commercial, but not too shabby.
09/14/2002 08:05:00 PM
I love how the milk is splashing over the strawberries.... very nice shot!
09/14/2002 07:36:00 PM
great action. wonderful color
09/14/2002 05:15:00 PM
Nobody EVER leaves the leaves on, but it does balance the color well. Nice shot--10

Reminds me of a cereal commercial. I like it!
09/14/2002 01:44:00 PM
Looks like your advertising cereal???
09/14/2002 12:59:00 PM
Great shot but would you leave the green bits on? 8 - floyd

Great splash! I know the greenery looks nice, but most people I know take the tops off erdbeeren before eating them (and slice them). Reallly nice stopped motion. 9 Swash
09/12/2002 12:22:00 PM
Nice photo but perhaps a slightly faster shutter speed would have eliminated some blurs on the milk splash.
09/11/2002 10:11:00 PM
looks delicious..nice stop action on the milk.

What a great shot...I was truly dissappointed at the background as this really..really takes away from one of the best shots this week. Still..the stop action is first rate...the berries..while a bit strange having whole berries including stems in a cereal bowl does not hurt too badly and helps overall shape and texture..but the very bad background is KILLING this shot....still...8.....hokie

Nice action photo. I like the colours. The picture is very clear. (But I did have to translate the title to understand it - sorry I didn't know that Erdbeeren meant Strawberries) 9/10

This is one of my favorite breakfast treats :) I would love to hear the translation of the title :) = 9 - jmsetzler

I struggled with a similar shot and finally gave up and entered something else.
Good work.

You're spilling the milk. Not sure about you, butI always take the leaves off the fruit before putting them in my cereal. hehe
09/10/2002 01:21:00 PM
Hey! People don't do that! That's only on television
09/10/2002 12:08:00 PM
Yum, yum! I liked this picture, the milk splashing over the strawberry looks great! Although I wouldn´t eat the fruit with leaves, ha, just kidding! Good luck!

Magic, pure magic… Looks great, wonderful use of colour, great contrasting background and fantastic composition – and I bet it tastes out of this world too. Can't fault this shot… (10)

That was a great shot, it looks as if the strawberries are almost enjoying the milk being poured on them. I love how the milk just seems to jump out of the bowl on the left.
09/10/2002 02:04:00 AM
That is an awesome shot. Great light, I love the milk, especially the little droplets in the background.

i remove the stem and leaves before I eat the strawberries. I guess it takes all kinds though. I really like the milk drops in mid air. The leaves painted on the bowl on the right are distracting. Great job, 8.

great capture of movement.
