Coreopsis tinctora

Plains coreopsis is sometimes known as painted daisy or tickseed (because the seeds resemble ticks).

The Lakota and Kiowa made a tea from the flowers, which are about one inch in diameter.

It is said that early settlers placed this plant in their mattresses to repel fleas and bedbugs.

lovely coropsis! I like this a lot. I've been trying almost each dya to shoot these to gather that wispy branching of theirs', you've done it well!

And they're crazy about you :-) This is super-sharp and crisp, excellent work. I'd love to see you clone out the little BG bud in left center, which is an eyetrap for me.

Your images have an appearance of looking like botanical watercolor paintings..... wonderful.... just wonderful.

Beautiful! I love the soft green background, and the shapes created by the clear branches on top of the out of focus branches. In this picture, I might consider cloning out the stems at the top left, they aren't bad there, but don't add much to the image (and maybe take away some).

You should be more ruthless and break off that branch which corners your foto. Great specimen, and good work.
