When we moved into the place we are now in about a year ago, the place had been vacant so the front yard was horribly overgrown with weeds while most of the plants were dead. It has been a long process to get things cleaned up, but we are finally getting to the point of being able to replant the two huge garden beds (about 2 x 10 meters). The 10x10 meter lawn in the center will come next... :-)

Anyway, this is one of the first roses to bloom on the new rose bush we planted last week. I'm not much of a floral photographer, so I started playing with different processing techniques to try to create different textures on one of my boring rose shots. Nothing was that great but it was a fun exercise, so I figured I'd just put some of them together in a quadtych, starting with the original image in the lower left.

What a great idea. Took me a second to figure out what it was. Love the colors and how the 4 pictures work so well together as 1.

What a wonderful set of photos. I love the angles that you made. It almost reminds me of a quilt square. Excellent job!

Cool. In the thumbnail, it looks like a pinwheel.

...would apparantly both smell as sweet and look as good.

Great replication with differences in this quadtych and super soft colours, I can imagine this for sales in a nice department store or hanging on the wall in a shot in a diy or paint magazine which was saying how beautiful colours can transform a room

Outstanding

Wow incredible macro shots. Such beautiful soft texture, like satin. I just want to reach out and stroke a petal. I hope you use this one to decorate one of your walls.

Nice job on the processing. You've made the 4 images different, yet kept them similar enough to go together perfectly.

Very lovely image. Glad you tried some interesting processing techniques. Not sure I like the white window treatment. What would happen if you changed the color to maybe an ivory? I don't know, it seems too linear for such a curvy shot of the rose.

Just beautiful. Looks if it is one flower, divided in four. You made a great thing out of it.

So cool, that was a great idea! At first I thought maybe the shots were pieces of waded up paper, they do look like silk!

Awesome! The bottom right one looks like it is made out of silk.
