so now we're down to trying to score well with lenses - what am I doing in a league with you? Maybe that's MY nightmare! I just want a good score period! LOL

I loved this when I saw it in the challenge - great story telling - a quality I'm working at adding to my photos - of course it was YOU! I should have known.

Congrats on the PH award - You would get the DK blue too if there were such a thing!

OK, I don't know how you sleep at night after spending some time on this image. I don't want to say "great shot", it's just too disturbing, but you know what I mean.

Wow. Talk about an immediate impact. The first thing I notice is the capsized stroller and I immediately think a baby has been stolen from it. The second thing I notice is her doll. Then I notice it's on the road. This all hits me right away. A little bit later I see the car in the distance... the kidnapper making his getaway. Finally, I realize that this is a toy stroller. Then the themes become more complex. This was not a baby, but a young child playing at being a mother. The actual "baby" here is indeed that doll. The lost, sprawled doll becomes a metaphor for the stolen, helpless child.

An interesting thing about this photo, and one that some people may not like, is that it is clearly fictional, and not just because nobody would be taking a photograph at a time like this, but also because of how perfectly it is arranged, how precisely centered the action is. The road is a triangle leading up to the car at its topmost point. The stroller is at a perfect angle so that we can see it is empty. We can even see all four wheels. The doll is spread out before us like Putti on an Italian Renaissance ceiling. The depth of field dramatically underscores a subject we couldn't possibly miss anyway.

Personally, I think it's so obviously set up that it is artful. After all, we don't mind if a poet or novelist artfully arranges events to present themes. And, after all, this is a nightmare, which is also a form of fiction, and a dream, which uses strong visual symbols brazenly displayed. Well done.

Chilling. Great DOF and good choice for b&w.

well done all around on this -- car driving away (only dark in a field of light) with the bady items in the front - b&w adds to the drama... one of my ribbon picks this challenge

use of vintage objects is due to b&w mood?..interesting idea....I think composition could have a better perspective though....

A good depiction of a most terrifying scenario.

Took me a second. First reaction was that the victim was "in" the baby carriage. Then I realized that it was a child's toy carriage and the victim had been pushing it and what we are seeing is what was left behind. Clever idea. Good composition.

fantastic image - yet disturbing - the shallow DOF and grain are perfect for this type of image - 10

A very disturbing image which provides an excellent take on the challenge. The grainy black and white conversion works well as does the aged nature of the pram and doll. It all adds to a sense of foreboding and ill ease

Excellent interpretation and delivery

Focus needs to be sharper. I like the choice of b/w.

Eeek!!! Great job, I love that you used an old fashioned carriage and doll for this photo. The post processing and DOF are perfect.
