This isn't an "ocean scene" as I don't live near one! I live in the city. But, I do live near Lake Ontario and while the area has a lot of land surrounding the accessible open water, I caught this shot of the water BECAUSE of the swan on it! So, while it may not be the pretty "ocean scenes" that I'm sure many entrants will provide, I like my "open water" shot.
My guess is that voters will say: "Too plain" or "not a seascape scene" or, "not enough interest" but, as one person wrote on a post in the forums, were we to see the photograph of a great photographer in here, not knowing so, we'd likely vote his/her photos into the dumps! (These are MY words, paraphrasing, not theirs btw). How true!
I color corrected, despeckled, hue adjusted, brightness and contrast, re-sized and the normal stuff we all do during basic editing. (why I write this, I have no idea!)
Vote guess: mostly 4's, partially 5's, one or two who like it and vote it a 6 or 7 purely because it appeals to them as it did me (thank you!!!) and of course, the obligatory 1's, 2's and 3's from the Trolls which will MORE than erase the good of the couple of 6's and 7's! *grin*
Ah well.....I like it! That's what truly counts. May not be perfect technically, but then again, I have a crappy P&S camera which as a response time of a slug!!! Gotta save up for a better camera! :) |
