I absolutely love this photo. This is the kind of moment wildlife photographers wait around for hours on end to get just this kind of shot. Congratulations on the photo -- and sorry it is so ridiculously underrated!!!

I love the interaction of the birds and the twisting diagonal pattern of the bark. I don't like what looks like the effect of post processing on the birds themselves.

maybe it's just me, but it looks like the back of the bird got caught in a gaussian blur?

I think I would clone out the knot in the upper right. To me, it looks like a huge eye in the corner and distracts me from the birds.
