I thought it would be fun to take a picture of what it would look like from inside the mouth to eat some corn. I used an artificial mouth called a dentoform and flash photography at the macro setting. I liked reflection of the light off the corn, the "saliva", and the gold caused by the flash as opposed to using a softer light. I made no post shot adjustments other than cropping and sharpening the image.

Wow, 56 commments. I didn't think I would stir so much emotion with this one! Thanks for all the great comments. This was a fun picture to take. The Corn wasn't very yellow after it was cooked so I had to soak it in yellow die over night to get it more interesting looking. The "Saliva" is sprayed on water. I had to bite into the corn before placing it into the dentoform in order to get realistic bite marks. The dentoform was mine from dental school. All the work you see is how we practiced and learned to do different procedures.

Well, you get the prize for most creative... Nicely composed too... it's kinda gross, but that doesn't change the fact you've done something great. Congrats!

It's definately a unique point of view, but it's also a rather unappealing picture that upon viewing I am not left wanting to view again.

Very interesting perspective. False teeth, or a person with a huge hole in their head

Great colors, wonderful symmetry....feel like I am watching something out of "Little shop of Horrors"...very well done....please tell how...so very cool...just a little gross but the detail and the colors more than make up for it.

I\'ve gone through all the photos at least three times now. I expect this one to ribbon. And I'm looking forward to reading of your techniques. I\'m guessing a dentists model chomping down on real corn from behind with a little water sprayed. Great work.

This may be a redundant theme or technique but i find it quite fascinating, so fascinating that I have trouble picturing the subject as being an actual mouth!

I can't figure out how you did this, unless you took someones teeth out or drilled a hole in the back of someones head. Although astheticaly this isn't pleasing, for your idea I give you a 10 ;)

I have no idea how you did this. Absolutely intriguing (I'm probably overlooking the obvious.) Great composition and pattern. Good luck.

It is really cool, did you put the camera in the mouth? Nice composition. Normally I do not like to look somebody’s teeth, but now it is interesting (so bad teeth) -10

LMAO, that is just bizzare! This may be the best challenge fit of all the pictures. It looks so real with the teeth biting into the corn. Great job. 9.

Imaginitive, very graphically detailed photo. I'm guessing this mouth is fake, but you did a good job of making it look... well used :-) While I can't imagine putting this anywhere that I'd have to look at it every day, it does fit the challenge well! 7.

Yuck. Works much better when you can take them out, doesn't it? I tried an inside the mouth shot with a mirror. Never worked at all. Great color and DOF. Maybe needs a bit softer light to enhance the inside-the-mouth feel.

oh this is obviously a 10. the only way i think you could have done it is these must be fake teeth from a dentist office or something. i love it :)

This is a dayum good and clever idea! It makes me want to cringe my face when I look at it. The quality of the pic is good, maybe a few harsh lighting spots but as for meeting the challenge it is one of the best here (9)

Ah! This is so gross but yet so cool. Are these fake like dentist teeth or something? If not I'd be very impressed, tiny little cameras :P Very good idea and really interesting
