This is so good. tremendous capture and perfect focus.

This could only work this well with a black background.

Just want to agree with everyone else that it's a great shot... love how you made the background black - it sets off the water and your son's face. Very cool. :)

Yeah! Great that you and your son got a ribbon for this marvellous image.
Was my favourite as you know.
Now that I know that it is your son I even better understand the title.
It was probably the eye that made most of us voters believe that he is a girl. Also his beard isn't that strong at the moment! How old is he?

Congrats on the ribbon. This shot deserved a ribbon.

This is your Son! I'd love to see a regular pic of him. He seems to have some serious feminine features, maybe it's just this shot.

Anyway, good job!

Definitely my favorite of the challenge -- very, very well executed! The water shows up perfectly against the black background, and the skin tones are great. The only little nitpick I have is that her hair blends into the background a little too much, but it's not enough to keep me from making this a 10! Let me be the first to congratulate you on the ribbon! :)

Oh so perfect it can only be Kiwi, if not then that is a big compliment from me. Even the model is spot on and her hair adds great interest and finishes it off beautifully. Perfect exposure on water AND skin, I take my hat off to you. Hope this wins. 10+ And the best of luck - not that you'll need it.

Nice work. The model has done a nice job here. Her position is very good, and really makes the shot. I've seen this before, but it's well executed none-the-less. 9.

Amazing shot. Clean, simple, effective. The face looks natural (not overprocessed). The water is sharp and with no major glares. Well done indeed.

This is a great idea. Did you use a flash to "freeze" the water that way? Your lighting and composition and focus are right on the money. I hope this makes top 5! 10 from me.

Absolutely superb, I think this is my favourite in this challenge! It's reminiscent (to me) of Audrey Hepburn and more recently of Audrey Tautou in Amelie. So altogether a bit of an Audrey moment for me! Composition is just so beautiful - the exact angle of her face, the position of her ear next to the corner of the frame (and how far in from that it is), the way her hair almost disappears into the background making an intriguing abstract shape of her face, the way the water angles to the opposite corner...). You've also succeeded in capturing a wonderful expression of fun in your model's features as she squirts away! Just beautiful!

Beautiful contrasts here and a wonderful action shot. The child's dark features and the black backdrop really make the water stand out. Great placement as well! I give this a 10!

I do have three problems with this image:
1. To me it is more 'stopped action' rather then action itself.
2. It''s another water drop image as there are plenty of.
3. I only can give you a 10 for it, because the admins didn't increase the scale for you submission further up.

Honestly: even if the challenge topic would be 'still life' or 'Show NO Water' I would give it a 10.
It's extremely creative and a joy to look at. The composition is excellent, especially how you worked with the dark hair as part of the border and black background. The model is just beautiful and naturally looking. Like her smile very much and the clear haircut makes it too.
Everything is crisp and clear, especially her face and of course the water fountain.
But all these more technical aspects don’t make the image, it’s the creativity that makes it so special.
So to me for sure the winner and one of the 'All-Time-Best' at DPC.

Very nice, good clear shot! The background of black was a good choice, goes well with her hair. Good fast exposure to get the water motionless. 9
