Taken at my county's fair, which conveniently was scheduled at the same time as this challenge. I took quite a few pictures and felt weird doing it since I don't usually take pictures of people, and certainly not of random people! This was the most fun of the bunch and the one my DPL teammates liked best. The look on the one girl's face is priceless as she mugs for her friend's camera, and yes, her eyes really did bug out like a cartoon character!!

PP - converted from RAW (-2,0,+1 exposure comp.), combined in HDR, cropped, shifted sky to blue with white balance adjustment and applied light gradient filter, increased saturation on ride parts, dodged/burnt/desaturated facial features to emphasize them, reduced noise, white balance, increased contrast and gamma, desaturated front of ride slightly to get rid of yellow cast, added border, resized, sharpened, cleaned up hotspots, blurred guy's hair on top

Two things jumped out at me when seeing this. 1. the "CRAZY" is cut off. 2. The cart's (or whatever it's called) face is chopped off, too.

But then I took a closer look - for one, the colors are extremely appealing in this photo, making it visually very interesting. Though it's busy, there are leading lines that keep it from looking cluttered.

Initially, I only saw people on a wild ride, but then upon closer inspection I saw the two girls who are taking a photo of themselves. Now that is really priceless and ups the photo's quality in my opinion.

I can see where you would have gone with this shot and not waited for another "cart" - or maybe you got a bunch of shots, I don't know. In any case, this is awesome - great capture. 8

This comment courtesy the Viral Comment Experiment (VCE). The VCE is an experiment to see if a large number of quality comments can be generated in a fashion similar to chain letters. The first time you receive a VCE comment, randomly choose five (5) images from this challenge (or another challenge) and leave quality, useful comments/critiques like this one. Make sure to mention good things as well as bad things. Then, see how many you receive in return over the next few weeks. Make sure you copy this VCE notice at the end of each comment. [Obligatory chain letter threat] If you do not make five quality comments within 24 hours, your hard drive will crash and your camera's shutter will fail at an inopportune moment.

not a genre that I get very excited about, but I do like the "CRAZY" in the background and the fact that those two girls are focusing all their extreme emotion into that tiny object... a camera? 7

A tight crop of just the girls' faces would have been awesome, but still, this was a great capture.

I wish you had cropped the picture to show just the two on the left of the frame.. her eyes would have won this shot!! Nice capture indeed!

wow! if you have the resolution, I'd crop right down to them. those faces and the fact they are so sharply in focus is a wonderful candid find! Somewhat diluted by the smallness of it in frame. Great candid photography in my book. 7
