 Sad little pup at the spca in a cage. Crop, adjustment layers of channel mixer conversion b/w, levels, curves, selective colour to add bit of colour, usm, resize.

Awww... what a heart breaker :( Great control of light and dof. Well done with this entry. Crazy all the sub 5s. Even taking into account the cropped ear and noise, I would find it difficult to justify a low vote. Just plain crazy.

ahw it kinda looks like my dog when he was a little puppy, now hes 2....and is really tall and skinny, like a doberman...
i love my puppy.

It is a good photo, I think there is too much noise in the shadows of the photo. Very good, but not great IMO.

I am not a good photographer, I do not claim to be better than anyone, any criticism is meant to be constructive criticism......

What a cute face with such sad eyes! I really like the BW here, it helps bring forward the bleakness. Only wish the ear wasn't cropped at the top. From the way I am reading your title, I believe that this is a pound puppy that was deserted. If you had a cage that would really bring that point across better, but then again I could be wrong! Very haunting photo. Excellent work.
