I like the framing effect, but I also think it would be more effective from lower down / closer up to get the sky behind more of the arch. Comes across slightly jumbled as is, but still quite good.

Give my regards to Ted and the Santa Catalinas.

Wow, like the lighting, colors, everything. I miss living in the Southwest, too, so this brings back nice memories.

You did a great job of capturing the essence of a southwestern home.

I love the scenery in this photo... the mountains in the background are very nice but the foreground of this shot is very 'busy'....

Very nice composition

This one really got me thinking. I really like it but the architecture seams to be competing with the scenery. It is gorgeous, though.

Funky mix of storm clouds and sunlight make this for me. Where does the path go I wonder ....

this has a very nice feel to it. Nice color and a hint of architecture!

I feel very welcomed; the sky is great; good shadows; unusual subject (at least in this challenge)

B&W might have been a good choice on this ... ala Ansel Adams ....

Great picture.

Interesting concept, nice color contrast (mountain, sky, house). I found it too busy with the addition of the plants and arch(?).

nicely composed shot - pleasing colours

Nice.. what part of the country is that?
04/01/2002 11:21:00 AM
this is a little busy, but overall i really like it. maybe a closer photo of the "architecture" of the building would have more impact, though.

Just one word....Amazing !

At first glance I dismissed this photo and decided to score it later. Second glance turned into a hard look where I "studied" each element and had a desire to follow the path. You drew me in. And while this comment isn't exactly helpful, I felt like telling you - "Nice Job". IMO - textures, architectural elements and coloring are just great.

This should be in a Miyazaki film!

You framed the building perfectly, this looks really fantastic! It's very inviting. All it needs now is a little DSS dish bolted to the... um... never mind. :)

I would have like to see more contrast in the see. Nice framing.
