Greetings and welcome to dpc!

As a photograph, this is a very intriguing image. I like the simple but strong imagery portrayed with the orange sky, sun, and city skyline. The brightness of the sun is balanced with the vastness of the sky, and I think that makes for a fairly strong and balanced composition. It feels a bit tight on the left, so if there was a bit more space on that side it may help. Also, I think having the sky take up so much space, and the city so little, is effective. A more distinct skyline might have made for more interest though.

For this challenge, I can see that the sun is a "vanishing point" in a literal sense of the phrase. However, in photography, it typically describes a scene that has parallel lines running to a point where it looks like they meet, or will meet. In that respect, it is difficult to distinguish how this meets the challenge, and I think that is probably what hurt your score the most.

If I need to further explain or clarify myself, please feel free to contact me.

I don't think this is what's meant by "vanishing point".

Not much evidence of a vanishing point here
