Shot JPG, shutter priority (1/5 sec), panning one of the rides at the local carnival. This one was interesting to pan, because it has so many things moving at the same time. So I panned the main arm's movement, trying to catch a motion blur of the wheels at the end of the arm while tracking the whole thing.
Opened in PSCS3, cropped to square, adjusted curves, shadow/highlights, and colours (using selective colours). Darkened edges a bit. Flattened.
Added text in 3 layers, one for the outline, a second for the slight shadow, a third for the fill. The colours for the fill are taken from the picture itself, inverted, and adjusted.
Flattened, resized, sharpened, NN, slight USM, saved for web. |

Zipper was DPL's first foray into rock and roll from the world of Hip Hop. These Philly natives managed to get Bono to produce it by convincing him that they were hungry Africans. Not only did this help them get signed by a major label, but it meant free snacks during all the sessions!

| Great picture. I wouldn't of played up the text so much. Maybe move the word zipper some where else, it looks like it's part of the name, not the album name. |

| I love the photo. The text not so much. It's the jaggy outline that bothers me but it's not that big a deal. |
