This one i am excited about. This is NOT a drawing and there aren't really many filters applied to it. This would get slaughtered in a Free Study because people would assume this not photography and has been over filtered.

That is all.

You know, reading your description there, I'd have to agree with you that it would be "slaughtered" in regular challenges in here. But, this is where I feel that we are losing our abilities to use the tools that we have with photo editing software! It's such a shame because it keeps us to being "realistic" rather than the oh so many different things we can truly do to make a photograph a true piece of art!

I really like this piece Color! It's striking and something that would make a great print. Picture a black frame with a LARGE white matting! It would be a stunning piece on a modern wall!

Great work! Captures my attention and tastes very well!

Wow there is a definite picture of a picture feel about it

Not 100% sure whether I am a total fan of the flattening effect but there can be no doubt that it is a very striking image

I love the way you have filled the frame with this, works perfectly for this image and emphasises the natural symettry of the lions face

Even though this is your day 1 (waiting for some more updates :), I really like this shot. Perfectly executed with a straight on shot. Great tonality and a lot of interest.

I love the crop you used and I think it would work well as a drawing too. Quite the eye you have.

Very interesting effect. It does look like a drawing, but can see from original how this was achieved. Quite artistic. Great dynamic range.

Wow, the conversion to B&W and your post processing of the image really gives this photograph a highly detailed drawing! Love the play of light and shadow in the lion's mane - really get a detailed look at the groves and fall of the 'hair'. Exposure is good with nice range of tones and contrasts that make the image visually pop off the page. The compositional element of cropping and bringing us face-to-face with the lion was a good choice. It brings your main focus/subject up front and center for your viewer to get an up close and personal look.

The shine on along the nose is a disappointment - the image is quirky and strong.
