an excellent capture of the life and death struggle .. so real .. things get eaten all the time, we just dont see it a lot ... i'm probably a bit gruesome, but i absolutely love this photograph .. love the details, love your b&w treatment, love the close-up .. WOW .. :)

Liberty,

Some how I wasn't observing very well. I did re-vote but didn't edit my original comment. The cricket is quite nice in the tarancula's grasp. Sorry about that. Van

Nice capture but...ewwwww! (although I like tarantulas, I don't think I need to see them eat!)

I really hate spiders. They freak me out and this photo freaks me out. So you did a great job capturing this tarantula eating an insect. Every time I look at it it gives be the heebie jeebies. I like the B/W choice and how the spider is off centered. Good crisp focus.

Ha ha...Thus endeth the great arachnid v Insect debate
!!! Arachnids rule!!!! Mind you I am having to give you a DNMC because I cant see the full thorax abdomen head and six legs...So that's a three!!!! (Only JOKING, I give one point per legs of a spider) Great shot

Wow this is close. A bit busy with all those legs, my eyes keep looking for something to focus on. Good clarity and detail.

Curious why you chose B&W? Good focus but miss the color.
