Post Challenge: Well, after all the "leave the head in" comments, I just have to say that IMHO, it looks much better without the head. There's more mystery, more interpretation on the viewers' parts, etc. But thank you for all the great comments! :)

I think this is really cool shot. Excellent tones and detail. The missing head adds the motion feel as if he popped out of the frame the moment you pressed the shutter button.

Love this shot, really original and again add my vote to the 'no head' peeps.
Nice one.

Love this picture. I agree, w/out the head is better, it makes you look at everything else around him instead of just at his face. Great job!

Well I think having the head out of frame is integral to the illusion that he's swinging. Good for you and congrats on the 12th placing!

What would really be cool is if his head was sticking up out of the frame! :)

Congrats on 12th! A great image and good for you for sticking to your preference for the headless! Always remember that your opinion matters more than all the voters. ...well, not for challenge placement but in the grander scheme of things. :)

I like the creativity of the shot, with a head in the shot I know it would have been a contenter. Good job

What a fun and happy picture. Love the concept with the swing - how many shots did you have to take? lol. The background is just perfect too. Good luck!

Everything about this photo is fantastic. The key for me, which it appears that you obviously intended, is the fact that he totally looks like he is swinging, but the chains aren't connected to anything! Wow, that's an ugly sentence. Well, you know what I mean.

I find it the best in the challenge, and I give it my ten.

Really don't care for the crotch shot or the amputated head in this.
04/10/2007 01:35:50 PM
Amazing idea, especially with his bare feet. I would like it so much more though if his head weren't cut off.

It could be a 10 if you didn't cut the head. 7
