this is a great shot, those folks who voted 1 got this shot mixed up with another less worthy pic. my vote wouldve been 8-9.

I could almost swear that I swung in that swing! Vividly brings good memories to mind. You captured a lot of character in that tree, and a lot of emotion.

This looks a little fuzzy to me. But the rest of the shot looks great. 7.

This was the type of shot I was looking for... only I was hoping for a tire swing.
Good Job!!

I like this a lot but it looks a little washed out to me. Try using ND filters if you can get them for your camera. About a number 4 and I think it will darken the colors for you. You have framed it perfectly.

This is a beautiful photograph and is bound to bring back fond memories for more than a few voters.

This is a great shot!! Your photo even took me back to my childhood. Good job!

What a great spot! Very nice- the only thing I would change is to crop off a little on the left to get rid of the fence. Great color too.

very well compose and inviting..love the haze and the oak tree.

A softer focus may have been in order here, but a nice shot none the less.

There were so many swing pictures this time I am torn in voting on them. Some have merits in one way while others in other ways.
What I liked: The character of the tree bow and trunk add to this picture. A more closely framed shot would have (in my opinion) been better in ths instance.
I don't know how varied and intense/subdued natural lighting is where you are at, but if possible, try returning here at different times of day to see of the shadows and lighting accentuate the shot.

Nice colours, a little grainy.
Lacks punch - perhaps a close up or an unusual viewpoint?

You have nailed MY childhood completely with this photo. Great muted colors. I think the only suggestion that I could make is the composition might be stronger if you moved to the side a little so the swing was not directly in the center of the photograph. 7 BAMartin

Nice composition. I would have loved to see this in b&w. I think it would have given a more nostalgic feel. The green is so vibrant that it almost distracts from the swing. I think I would have tried to crop out the hot sky in the upper left hand corner. Great image.

Vivid colour and good image

What a lovely photo! This looks like one of those so-called "idyllic" settings. That's an amazing tree. I love the whole "feel" of the shot. lhall

Well, well. We have almost the same picture in this challenge. But I have to admit, I like yours very much. I was looking for this kind of a tree as well, but you found it. And I like the park scenery in the background. Congratulations.

Where do you find all these great swings?! Wonderful green grass and gnarly tree. Looks like something from a movie set.

Wow..... out of all the swings in this challenge, here's one I would love to try out!

good memory's , good swing, good photo, good jog!!
08/26/2002 06:26:00 PM
Nice picture, i wonder what i looked like if it were in B&W.
I think B&W pictures are more suited for this challenge, although i like the "emptiness" in the background, just a tree and a swing. Nothing disturbing.

I really love this photo. the grass is a really great green and the trees are a beautiful contrast. The lighting was great for this photo. my only lighting concern would be in the upper left corner where the bright spot kind of washes away the tops of the trees right there. This is an absolutely beautiful tree. This photo is in my top 10. Great job and good luck in the challenge.

I think this picture could beneift from some cropping.
08/26/2002 01:55:00 PM
Gorgeous tree, comfy swing. :) The picture is a tad granulated, and for me it would be a stronger image if the focus were soft instead.

This is a memory right out of my childhood, and I would have loved to submit this very photo! This could have been the swing at my Gramma's house! I thought about trying to find a tree, to re-create this memory, but we live where there are absolutely NO trees of the right kind, or big enough. You've done it for me!

I actually entered a swingset picture and then changed it. I love the green in this picture.
