I thought this was a wonderful photo. Awesome colors and excellent exposure.

I must not get out much, because I had no clue where this was :)

I like this a lot, and I don't see any problem with people taking pictures of the same landmarks. After all, look at all the shots we have seen of the Sidney Opera House, and all the shots we have seen of the Washington, DC monuments.

I like the detail of the wheel you captured, and the blue light on the walkway. I also like the people you have in this shot. Very nice, and I think the person who gave you a three just because someone else took a similar shot, is misusing the rating system.

Congrats on your new personal best. And some of us *are* aware that you weren't the one complaining. :) It's a cool shot regardless of all the hoopla.

Typing 'Oslo' into the location field of profile search here gives thirteen hits, or fourteen for you, as I would be one of them. With four members and about five or six who have participated in more than half-a-dozen challenges, you get four pictures of this:

With 150 located in London, you might expect the odd picture of the eye. You'd have to go some not to see the difference between this and the 'spinning' one.

Well done, congrats on the pb.

You did a great job here...wonderfully exposed...I've been attacked my fair share about my subject matter, even one of my ribbons was beaten because they didn't think it fit the challenge, but the voters thought it did. Don't let it bother you...you almost got a 6.5, that's good anytime of the year...well done.

Okay, now I'm really lost. A picture of the London eyes gets a ribbon. Then this one (which maybe isn't AS good, but is still pretty good!) gets attacked for being 'unoriginal.' It's so confusing... I absolutely do not understand the voters. :) Oh well. This is a beautiful picture. I am always a sucker for blue lights!

I also love the way the path glows with the lights!

Nice shot - very good lighting and colors. I love how the lights from the trees glow on the pavement below.

You were robbed...this was superb. Honestly, I thought you were a top 5 chance. Perfect exposure, great perspective

So, did you see the winning Spinning shot and figured you'd try it? Either way, it's just not as good. I think it's because the Eye is much smaller here. The blue lights are pretty, though.

This thing sure has been popular on DPC lateley! Nice shot! But shots of the eye may be getting a bit played out. I love the contrast of colors.

Super nice shot, though a minus 1 for the fact that it just scored a Blue Ribbon in the previous challenge. Not particularly original in that case. On the upside though even with the minus 1 its in my top 5.

i have seen this photo again in the spinning challenge. i think it is wrong of you to take a similar photo of one that has taken the first place in a recent challenge.if you would like to take a photo of the same theme you should capture it from another angle. nice try though!

I've seen this picture already...

I think what makes this one is the subject, not the setup of the photograph or the angle, would have been cool if you went underneath the ferris wheel and shot up at the sky

04/11/2007 11:00:39 PM
okay what is it with this wheel??? If I haven't seen it for the 3rd time I would have given it a good score but it's just getting old already. 3

Beautiful! I don't like it as much as the recent ribbon winner but I still like it. Not even sure if it is by the same photographer. Some people in the forums are complaining about this image, saying if it is by the same photographer then that's being lazy. I don't see it that way at all. People form Iceland enter northern lights photos in back to back challenges all the time and no one ever says anything about them. I'll give this a 9.

OK, but not very original considering the same/similar shot just won a challenge.
