This involved a lot of layers and filters. The model is my daughter. I used a flashlight and some lightweight chains to cast a shadow on the wall behind her.

Probably will score badly, because I don't think the voters like images that look too much like graphic art. But I like it, so there :P

Thanks for the great comments. As I said above, I knew it wouldn't score well. But I achieved my purpose, and the people who matter to me got my message and appreciated the art. I am very happy with the response.

How did I miss this. The Picasso blue is stunning. Major art.

Blue always has been my favorite color.
Excellent image for a Poster.

I gave this one a 9. I still think it is a great image. You should be very proud of this piece. You were right about the voters, but for those of us who appreciate images like this, we give you a tremendous THANKYOU.

This is awesome. I looked at it a long time when I was voting and gave it a high score. I forgot to go back and see who did it. Congrats on creating this beautiful piece of art!

Julianne, I honestly don't know what I would've done during voting. Looking at it now, though, it's a powerful piece of art that I really like. In fact, it's going in my favorites.

Ha! Looking at your post-challenge commenters, it's 100% team suckers!

Edited to add: WOW. Look at that score from commenters during the challenge! I think that's the largest difference between commenters and average score I've seen.

Julianne,

This is a stunning piece of art. Really no complaints. The issue with voters though that is hard to associate with photography. Still that doesn't take away from such a great piece. Nicely done.

This is a very nice shot. Once again, The average DPC voter doesn't have the ability to think. The idea is fantastic.

Julianne,
You may not have received a high vote in this, but I think it is both artistic and lovely. In fact, I think this belongs in a gallery somewhere. Truly. I would have voted this very, very high had I voted in this challenge.

I could see this as a poster, or an album cover for a CD or something of that sort.

well done. This could easily be an illustration for a story about addiction. 10 (yeah, I gave you a little extra for being rad)

I really like the use of filter with this. Nice and different.

a bit overprocessed

This looks like a watercolor instead of a photograph... although that's not always a bad thing I suppose.

Very emotive. One of the best examples of the theme in the comp. 9

best of this theme - advanced editing used effectively!

I like the symbolism here - but I really hate the processing I'm afraid. I wonder why you chose to do it like this. IMO you've ruined your picture.

I really like this very much except for the lighter streak on the left border. will add to my favourites
