 Yes I actually set jeans on fire.
My neighbors thought I was mad at my husband seeing I was outside with scissors, clothes, and a lighter.
I cut the back out of 2 pairs of old size "never gonna where em again" jeans. I cut a small hole in the bottom of the pocket and removed the material behind the pocket so the hole was through and through.
A slight torch from a cigarette lighter and drive mode on the camera. I took over 100 photos (4 different pockets) and had a hard time choosing which one I liked the best.
This was my choice. Hope you like it as well.

I enjoyed reading your description! My first instinct when I saw this was that you used a Photoshop filter to create the flames... but it was too good to be anything but real flames. Way to go! Treat yourself to a new pair of pants! :)

Technical: Fits the challenge, exposure, composition and focus are good, lighting is even.
Personal: I think it's a good idea and it's interesting to look at- and I like the border!
How many pairs of jeans did you have to ruin for this shot?!?!?

I had the same exact idea in mind, but I didn't have any old jeans worth burning! :) You did an excellent job with this photo, I think it should be in the running for a ribbon. Excellent job!!
