I originally wanted to tie in this image with the Halfterson fellow in the description, so I wanted to try a few shots with the camera angled down, while I was looking up into the heavenly light, sort of thing.

Then my daughter's hand innocently appeared as an apparition in the frame of one image, and I thought that was a better tie-in. I was thinking of Hafterson's friends, and how they might feel: "Although he is gone, he will always be there beside me".

This was tough to shoot - the first 40 shots went something like this:
-click the remote shutter to start the timer
-Spray face, head and chest with water.
-Sit in correct spot.
-Grab dumbbells off floor.
-Try to time lifting the weights at ear height with the shutter.
-Click.
-Place weights on floor.
-Check image.
-Repeat.

I completed something like 40 partial reps with the 70lb dumbbells (who's the dumbbell?), and that was after I completed an intense workout. Not fun.

My daughter assisted as the "spray daddy in the head with a water bottle" girl for the last 10 shots or so. In one of the images, she was concerned because I was grunting and she reached into the frame to lend a hand...

I liked this one right away and it keeps getting better. It's got real strength. I like the black space and the stark lighting.

i love the large black space above his head. It gives the picture a great sense of movement and that he has things to accomplish.

I found the cropping distracting. Would have preferred to see it cropped more on the right. Good shot capturing the effort made.

expressions make this photo! I also like the B&W. But the composition feels a bit disbalanced. 7.

Well done. I might have cropped closer and reduced dead space if the resolution permitted.

The backlighting really adds a nice definition to the arms and armpit hair. The expression is also nice. The one thing I might have changed if I were you is that thing in the lower right corner. It kind of distracts. 8
