I'm sure folks at the beach thought I was a bit of a nut job as I combed the beach taking photos of the children's sand castles.

At some angle off the water, you could have probably seen the sky. Missed opportunity. Try a lower angle to capture how big and great we thought the castles were when we were kids.....

Geeeee for a moment I thought this was my picture. I did almost the exact thing, but then I decided to go for something way different. Nice capture! Good luck. Grayce aka Gracious

Simple and interesting. Not sure it needs that weird little white scoop, a spade might be better. What's the black line at lower left corner?
I wonder how this would work in portrait, with more space above and below than to left and right?

Great angle on the castle. Very nice job of keeping the moat and the castle in the photo. I like the angle a lot. The lighting is good, a little dark on the front of the castle and going down into the moat, but you can't exactly control natural light real well. Only way to have gotten light on the front of the castle would be to take the photo at a different time of the day, and i'm sure you weren't going to sit there watching the sand castle until that happened. lol. Great depiction of childhood. Good luck in the challenge.

Really good photo. Perhaps a perspective that would have been from a child's height may have helped to further the theme a little.

I think this would have been a little better with the stick and shadow cropped out of the bottom left of the photo. 6.

I remember the days of making castles in my sandbox and then having army men raid it and blow it up with firecrackers.
