Nice picture. I do not see where it relates to the challenge though. 7

As a kid I spent hours looking for patterns in the clouds and in reflections. This is just so beautiful - there is a real abstract feel to it with the white and darker lines on the water surface - the b/w treatment emphasises the abstract feel of it.

A very interesting looking picture. If you are imaginative, you could see a man on a horse, or (gulp!) the boogey-man!

Good photo. I think it portrays a child's imagination and what he sees, ironically, this is the attributes that many amateur photographers don't use as we get used to the mundane and only focused on objects. I just wish the reflection is a bit better in this photograph. 8

nice compositon and interesting play of light reflections on the water. it makes for a nice black and white. (6) ~mcmurma

What?
08/29/2002 01:21:00 PM
and what exactly does that have to do with childhood...?
08/29/2002 10:52:00 AM
Great idea. However, as an abstract, I think it might be more compelling if it were in color. 7 Lisa

It would be a little hard to figure the reference to the challenge here, even with the title's assistance. 3 Jak

How did you get these lines ?

This is a pretty interesting photo. It's neat how the lines are created in the reflections like that. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with most childhoods, however, I am sure it means something to you, so that counts. Color-wise, it's not very exciting, but I'm sure it wouldn't have the same effect if it were in color. Frame placement is great and focus is good. Good luck in the challenge.

This is a great shot – looks like cream floating on a river. It has great texture and depth, and I can't really fault the picture itself. Having said that, I can't see the challenge connection – sorry…

This is really cool, but I don't see how it relates to childhood.
08/27/2002 09:22:00 PM
cool....what is it?
08/27/2002 03:23:00 PM
Nice abstract piece. I must be dumb today cause I can usually find the connection, even long stretches, but this I just don't get. Are you trying to say something like - reflecting on past childhood and this is your mind at work?????
(I'm not very good with abstract, my bad) 7 Swash

Does not deal with the subject at all, but has nice contrasting wavy lines. A neat photo nonetheless.

Fascinating photo, what is it? My guess is a reflection of a water surface. I am a bit mystified as to what this photo is trying to depict about childhood. Is it a love or fear of water? I have no idea. Despite not feeling anything about childhood by looking at this photo, I appreciate your attempt to be creative. And I must add that I really like this photograph, so well done.

I don't know what it has to do with childhood- but it's a truly unique picture that looks really, really good! It looks like a fractal or something.
08/26/2002 09:55:00 PM
How does this portray childhood? Great Photo though.
08/26/2002 09:42:00 PM
Forgive me, but I don't SEE a reflection; and what in this photo depicts 'childhood' ?
08/26/2002 08:46:00 PM
this is a cool pic, it must mean childhood for u but i cant find anything childhood in it for me, but its neat!
08/26/2002 05:53:00 PM
Very artistic nothing much to say than nice reflections.
08/26/2002 05:26:00 PM

Day dreaming for hours. That's childhood.
08/26/2002 02:18:00 PM
I think this shot is beautiful. You may get comments that it doesn't meet the challenge, but if I had a nickel for all times I spent gazing into reflective pools ...
08/26/2002 02:06:00 PM
Not sure how you did this or really what I'm looking at............I do like it. Score 6 Justine

Captivating photo...this could look stunning in color (8)
08/26/2002 09:00:00 AM
This is a really nice photo, but I can't determine what the link to 'childhood' is. Maybe a fascination with reflections? - jmsetzler
08/26/2002 02:02:00 AM
Wow I can almost see a boogeymonster in the reflections. 7.

Interesting.
