When I was a primary school we used to get milk and biscuits in the afternoon followed by a 15 minute snooze. For this shot I also tried jelly and icecream (jello and icecream for you Americans :-) but it didn't come out as nicely.

Great photo. This looks like an ad for cookies. Definately relates to my childhood. Lighting is great and the angle is perfect. There is a orange tint to the cookies, but I think that could be just shadow. Great photo. Good luck in the challenge.

great color and detail! i tried this idea and it definetly did not come out as good as this one

Great saturated colours - particularly like the red background. Cropping in close is what makes the composition really work fore me - it makes the curve of the plate and the shape of the glass more abstract too. I bet you didn't even save any cookies to share with us did you? No? Of course not... sheesh, the selfishness of you photographer people just knows no bounds! Mutter mutter!

I like the quality of the light on the cookies. I'm not sure you wanted quite as much contrast as you got between the part of the table above the cookies, and the part to the left. To me, I think you got about as much emotional milage out of a milk and cookies still life as you could get. 7.

This looks like an add for cookies! Great composition. Red's the perfect backdrop for this and the touch of cool green sets it off well. Great job! 9 Lisa

Rich color! Interesting crop. Focus is pretty good. Fond memory (reviewed several sad photos in a row, this is a pleasant change) Store bought cookies?

Yummy!

Well, I guess this certainly has to do with childhood, but I think it has more to do with .... huger! YUM! Good shot.

those look delicious! i can see this as an ad for cookies or got milk? ok, heres an 8-------->shutterfly

seems a little overexposed. But other than that it looks like a toll house ad!

My only complaint about this photo is the lighting. My eyes feel like they are being lead off the right side of the photo because the cookies get brighter toward the edge.
08/26/2002 03:22:00 PM
yum. i like the subject, framing, etc. of this. i'm not sure if it is the color or lighting, but the cookies look a little yellow to me. karmat

These are the teensiest bit too orange for my taste, but still and all, a good, delicious shot of cookies.
08/26/2002 01:43:00 PM
Colors could be more crisp, but the cookies look good!
08/26/2002 10:08:00 AM
did you get one where the milk was half gone and the cookies had bites taken out of them?
08/26/2002 08:26:00 AM
Ah yes! Who could forget Grandma's chocolate chip cookies?
08/26/2002 02:42:00 AM
Would have liked to see a little more of the glass of milk. It barely reads like a glass of milk. I know it is that because my mind makes the logical association between cookies and milk. Another problem i see is that the white shape of the milk takes my eye right out of the picture frame. This image doesn't grab me because it's a little too sentimental for me but that's just my own taste. 5 Journey

this picture has a kind of 50's look to it, it brings back the memories of the warm kitchen and the stay home mom

I had to run downstairs and get a big glass of milk after this one!! Nice job and a great memory of childhood. They look good enough to eat!
