I just instinctively knew this was a South African photo... :P

This is very well done. The DOF draws your eyes to the gun point. The grain enhances the mood. Well done.

Nice shot (great, in fact), but IMHO it isn't a good idea to post a DPC contest entry in another forum while the voting is still going on. Just a thought...

Very cool shot. Don't generally like these "looking down the barrel of a gun" images, but this one just makes me realize that the others I've seen just weren't done very well. Focus and shallow DOF make the shot very dramatic and give the impression of being brought up short. Graining done well and adds to the overall effect. The shot has a cinematic feel to it. - 9

Very stark but very well executed (no pun intended)

I would hate this picture if it were DPC-sharp. The grain makes this picture work. 7

Powerful, emotive, well-composed, and perfect for this challenge. I have looked at all the thumbnails and this is the strongest image in the challenge, IMHO. My pick for the blue...unfortunately, I'm usually completely off when picking winners. I hope I don't jinx you because this is a standout shot. Congrats.
