A decorative clock that's never worked. I had to drive for ages to find a long stretch of beach with no people around. I placed the clock in the edge of the rising tide and shot as Mother Nature did her work. Processed for a dreamy look to suit the scene.

This shot immediately reminds me of a song... "Time, is flowing like a river, to the sea... (don't know who sings it...), but it sure is a great shot. Too bad we can't play sound with our photos...

I thought about this very title. I love your shot Cindi. Interestingly, I found this about the phrase...

Here tide doesn't refer to the contemporary meaning of the word, i.e. the rising and falling of the sea, but to a period of time. When this phrase was coined tide meant a season, or a time, or a while. The word is still with us in that sense in 'good tidings', which refers to a good event or occasion and whitsuntide, noontide etc.

Good use of time, tide and no man. And the clock that doesn't work.

Nice idea, I think a longer exposure to blur the water might have been interesting to try.

Good concept and interetingly captured. Horizon, unfortunately, is not level and a little oversharpened.

This is AWESOME!! My new favorite in this challenge so far. Someone else had this saying, with just a flat tide. ..but the addition of the antique clock turns it from being a "stretch" for the challenge into an extraordinary, perfect fit! 10

I think I saw this clock in circles? Nice setup. I like the degree of saturation and the fast shutter speed.
