You know Slip, there are colours other than red available for ribbons ;=) Congratulations on a superb image. I really like the skewed horizon and the grain is superb in this...reminds me of my black and white developing days and Ilford 1600ASA film...congratulations

Supurb. 10. I just don't know what else to say. This is my pick for the Blue.

Composition: Very dramatic. I normally don't like tilted shots but it really works here and creates interesting lines. There are a lot of interesting shapes to look at (LOTs of triangles). The bowsprit takes the eye nicely across the frame without being overpowering.

General comments:
The sky is superb. The noise give it an ominous feeling while still retaining a good level of detail.

The Challenge: Nice level of noise. Enough to give it the shot an ominous mood and an "old" feeling. Not so much that it distracts or takes away some of the finer details.

Wow... very impressive! And yes, I belive that the grain does improve the eerie feeling.

wow. fantastic composition, and the grain really adds a visceral grit to your photo. i love the occluded sun working through the clouds, and it's positioned perfectly against the vessel. my pick for a ribbon!

what an interesting angle. i love the ship too, it fits perfectly in this image.

Love it. The tilt gives a plus here, and the grain is just right to provide lots of details and that "pencil drawing" style. What I'd like to see: (1) avoid the blown of the sun and (2) the end of the ship, which was barely cropped at the rigth.

really nice grain on this image - it is big and bold for a big and bold image - especially with the perspective of the image. One really small nit - I would love to have the entire boad in view - cutting off the very back is just such a slight issue though 7

I don't usually like tilted shots (I've tried them a few times and gotten negative comments) but it works here. I really like the dark, moody feel of this picture. It's almost dream like.

A lovely shot and I know you meant the horizon to be at that angle, but that is one thing I would change. The photo is striking enough without having to position it at an angle. The bow of the ship seems as though it is going to shoot right out of the frame and the ropes leading in from the bottom right take you straight to the subject. The lines, clouds, and moody grain in this photo are excellent.
