I took some amazing shots on this trip and had a hard time choosing a favourite. But this boy in one of the poor villages had such a look of longing in those big dark eyes, had to enter it into this challenge. I was a magnet to the kids in this village and the shutter was working overtime.

These children live in dire conditions and it broke our hearts. We have a Long term view to go back and help in move practical ways. Some of the children are starving, for not only food but love, affection and a sense of purpose and destiny.

I can't go into all of the editing-but it was quite basic. the camera did all of the work really - and that 50 mm 1.8 Came into its own.

how will I Go? well. people don't seem to like my shots of children here, so maybe 5.9-6.1???

POST: I had another image and switched at the last minute. I wish I didn's as it was more in keeping with the CIRCLE (singular). This little boy started to smile when he saw the image on my camera

What amazes me was that I got a few 1's and 2's...and that for the first three days this was in the mid 5's

you got some clueless dnmc's, that's the only reason you didn't score even higher. Moving portrait.

Enzo, this has to be my favorite photo of yours ever! It reminds me of Lesley Goodman's or GSal's work! I'm sure in a portrait challenge or Free Study, it would have scored much closer to what it deserves. Your commenters had it close :)

Fabulous capture!

I cannont believe this did not score up near 7! Fantastic shot. Haunting eyes. A wonderful capture to remind you of the compassion you feel for these people. Obviously that beats any DPC number. Hey, BTW, I'm going to Northern Thailand for my first overseas mission trip in July. I sure hope I'm a kid magnet too. Adding to favorites.

The only circle other than the reference in the title are the eyes. The eyes are very captivating though, good image.
