Thats a nice shot! Great eyes... Have you tried suspending the butterfly in mid-air using a black thread?

A high quality shot; not sure this is surpise expression though; more like "wonder"!

Judging on the border and the boy that is portrayed I'd guess this is a photo from Carsten. :)
Reminds me of an encouter with a dragonfly during a stay in Kalmar. Instead of sitting on my forehead is sat on my toes. As I lay on my back, my expression must have been about the same and so was my age at that time. :)
Excellent DOF (the eyes as main focus), composition and greyscale toning. I do wonder if that is real butterfly there.

As ever, a quality photo from Sweden. Gorgeously done. Only wish would be a bit more surprise on Jonatan or Alexander's face. 9

Guess it doesn't! LOL! A cute shot, a good idea but the boy doesn't look very surprised to see a butterfly this time of year or that it landed on his head. And yes, I know it's not a real butterfly :)

Also if the butterfly was placed on the nose with the more classic OMG look would really have worked with this. A 6 to start, a 7 to finish

Surprise isn't really the first thing that comes to my mind when I look at that picture, but thats about the only complaint I have, this picture is wonderful! Lovely DOF and lighting. Supurb shot!

I know this young man..both of them. :) Love the shot. This would of been good on his nose too. Maybe color would of been more stunning with the butterfly? I do think his expression is wonderful here and your lighting is just great.

Good idea and well taken. The face could have expressed some more surprise.

i see the way you're eyeing the flutterby, jimmy- but do you see those bright colors? that's natures way of saying: "if you eat me, you'll get a tummy-ache and die"

speaking of the flutterby... i heard somewhere that they were actually originally known as 'flutterby' and not 'butterfly' which.. well, makes sense. YOU ARE HUMBLED BY MY KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRIVIAL!

did you know that a blind chameleon will still change color based on its surroundings? well, DID YOU?

Good choice of b&w here and great lighting.
