I remembered that we had this manequin in the backroom at the store I work in, so I decided to borrow it for the weekend. We had fun with silly ideas all day at work, and then when I was going home, I stuck it in my purse, and wa laa, I had a handbag!! I had a good time with this challenge

This is an interesting take on the Literalism theme. Though not a common 'phrase' like many used it is common enough to get a reaction from most people.

The lighting is awesome on the purse itself. You managed to draw out the textures in the material. The reflection underneath the purse helps to give a different perspective too. You are a touch overexposed in a couple of spots on the hand but not so much as to be terribly distracting except maybe on the thumb.

The crop is IMHO a touch tight on the sides and maybe the top though. Also, I, being a HUGE fan of color, would have liked to see this in it's original colors.

One thing that immediately popped into my head when I saw this was that it would have been fun to see the purse straps in the hand so that the 'handbag' was holding itself. That would have been a truly original take on the wordplay!

Nice job,
TC

Great for the challenge. Gave me a good chuckle. I think there is too much contrast here. The light is really light and the dark is really dark. Other than that, good job. - 8 -

Skilfully lit and composed. Good shot, although the straps at the bottom are a bit untidy.

The tones and clarity of this are so beautiful and striking that I can't possibly give it less than a 10. Brilliant work!

For a challenge, which did not seem to inspire much that I'd consider 'remarkable', this image stands out as a straightforward literal interpretation, convincingly rendered. The strong side light together with the b and w mode adds a near-surreal impression to what could have easily been a duller take. While the inclusion of the two straps in the foreground appear to be redundant and, to my senses, the image is too tightly cropped at the top, the photo, as a whole, retains its integrity as an artistically interesting capture with very good technical merits.

You managed to capture the nice textures of the bag, and I think the lighting/shadows leant themselves well to the black and white. The partly mirrored reflection is a nice touch too. Although it's not really a common phrase, it still is a literal representation. The lighting seems just a tad too harsh on the thumb. Overall a good shot.

Great image here... very surreal... good choice to do it in black and white. This isn't a straight photo I think? The hand is very weird, almost looks a little like a solarization... but not quite... I like the effect, and the overall feel to the photo... plus it's quite humorous! Nicely done! 1 of 2 10's in the challenge! Good Luck!

LOL...I love this one, very clever and well done...nice work! Only problem is it feels a little too closely cropped on the sides, still a wonderful pic! 9

Very clever. If not the winner, should be in the top 3. I give you a 10.

I love your idea, your portrayal of the idea and that it is in black and white. However, it could have been perfect if the left side of the had wasn't over exposed.

Excellent! Hillarious interpretation of the challenge, works very well indeed. Lighting and contrast are both good. Love it.
