India was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Every picture is very important to me, and I almost didn't feel inclined to enter a single one in a challenge on this site. On the other hand, I'd like to share the pictures with as many people as I can.

This particular photo was taken on a day I was sick. Not from some foreign disease, but a homegrown synthetic one from Malaria-prevention pills. I had the strangest reaction to them which made me have sick flashes and so weak I could barely open a bottle of water. I would have space-out phases with freaky flashes of empty space and strange nightmares... A very bad trip. I was lucky to have Les take care of me for the days I was iffy. Eventually we figured out what the culprit was. So I stuck it to the man, stopped taking my malaria pills and never regretted it. I'd be happy to die of malaria any day instead of missing great photo opportunities.

This is baba Vijay Nund, a holy man who spends his days contemplating existence with the boys of his gacht on the Ganga River. It is said that one drop from the holy river will cleanse you of all the sins of your past lives...

640 pixels is ridiculously small and this looks much better as a 36x24 print

Not one to post a comment, but I'd like to say how amazing this photograph is to me. I thought, at first that it was posed... unreal. It's what we live for though huh? Those incredibly profound moments that become a part of who we are. That you would share this is appreciated. Aloha

I have no idea why this image placed third. This is obviously a well thought, well rounded photo, with great composition and colour. And the most beautiful old man that could ever be photographed.
I dont know why pictures that are continuously being repeated of the same surrounding keep winning. They are good, but they are just getting old to me.
Amazing work

Man bro,

How do you manage to do so much traveling? What's you're secret?

Awesome shot...

If I recall correctly, Tonic water has quinine or something to that affect which is supposed to be one of the things they had you take for malaria. Maybe you can just drink Tonic water. Of course, although it might not make you sick it tastes horrible. (IMHO)
