Wonderful creativity!!! I really like the witness and the investigator's reflections, bravo!

Please tell me that you didn't do this out of experience! Just from all those cop shows on T.V., right? Extremely well done, one of the best resolution pictures in this challenge. And, it is done with a healthy dose of humor, which makes it a well-rounded favorite for me. Top 3, I bet!
08/24/2002 06:26:00 PM
Clever. I esp. like the reflection of the leftmost pencils 5 sjgleah
08/24/2002 04:24:00 PM
Very fun! Nice focus, composition and reflections.
08/24/2002 10:26:00 AM
This is funny. The only thing that takes away from this is the reflection on the background. It's still a great photo.
08/24/2002 07:39:00 AM
LOL!

Oooh the USUAL SUSPECTS! This makes me smile, even on the Nth viewing! Would like more light/ better colour on the pencils, ahem, I mean suspects.

Clever... very clever! I like the reflection of the two pencils - it adds a lot to the "story" here!
08/21/2002 08:24:00 PM
Cool

(The balding criminal?) Great title and shot. At first, I had a hard time with the two pencil reflections, then I followed the light backwards. I thought I had it, but no the logic fails..I'll just have to ask. Which pencils are reflecting against the background. Both look like silver tops, but there is no place where two silver tops appear in next to each other. Where DID the reflections come from. (At first I didn't like them, but the questions kept me intrigued.)
Nice work, great photo, good "take" on the challenge. Score bumped to 9. Swash

you people kill me... excellent work...
08/21/2002 04:07:00 PM
Took me a while to realize what the reflections were supposed to be. Creative and funny. I like the details (like the used eraser on #2)
08/21/2002 04:04:00 PM
This is a winner. Very creative.
08/21/2002 02:35:00 PM
TOO FUNNY. I laugh everytime i look at this picture. Great work! karmat
08/21/2002 02:16:00 PM
Great use of humor. Great title. The most original idea of this challenge. I like the reflection of the two left most pencils but, personally I would like to see reflection from all the pencils. The lighting seems ok but the entires photo could be a little brighter. I would definitely hang this in my office if I were an officer. It would make a great gift if you have a family member or friend who is a peace officer..... =7 syamjonimi

08/21/2002 06:08:00 AM
it's #2 alright.
this shot can be improved by putting some more lights on the bottom
08/21/2002 01:59:00 AM
Who would have thought there could be humor in a pencil shot. Yet I have seen a few of them in this challenge. The title gives the humor, but the picture is great.
08/20/2002 05:06:00 PM
nice execution
08/20/2002 04:38:00 PM

Hehehe...the one with the rough eraser, it is always the guilty one for rubbing someone out!
08/20/2002 11:50:00 AM
I love it when a picture evokes some emotional response from me... and my favorite is humour. Where do some of these ideas come from! Thanks for making me smile. AND it's a well balanced and well done photo!

Very orinigal and Very creative! I don`t think you need a critque.
How about just a big pat on the back for fun and funny...
08/19/2002 08:52:00 PM
this is hilarious, esp with the pencils 'looking through' the glass or reflected.

08/19/2002 05:38:00 PM

08/19/2002 05:37:00 PM
ROTFLMBO! This one is very humorous, and I love humor. You should be a comedian. Great concept with the erasers too.

08/19/2002 03:49:00 PM
I really like this one. it made me laugh, too many people take this DPC way to serious. I enjoy seeing photos that make a good try at humor. You shot gets an (10) NormW
08/19/2002 02:59:00 PM
creative and well done. The reflections of the cop and witness is a wonderful idea.
08/19/2002 02:12:00 PM
Love the idea. shame about the reflections, don't know wheather you meant for them to show up, I can see why you would, but I think it distracts from the main picture.
08/19/2002 12:58:00 PM
Wonderfully creative! And funny too, good job :) 8
08/19/2002 12:01:00 PM

08/19/2002 10:21:00 AM
cute!
08/19/2002 10:14:00 AM
Cute and creative - made me chuckle. IMO (not to offend) it's a little too grey and dismal (although I'm sure a line-up is that way) I can't tell if the 2 soft images are reflections or from a slower shutterspeed - not understanding why they're there. I think I would have made it brighter, with the light source coming from angle from the bottom (as if being interrogated) and the white very white. This is just my opinion. Nice work and effort. 5

LMAO. This is absolutely hilarious. And it's visually appealing also. You did an excelent job with this. Lighting is great. There are no distracting shaddows, or bright spots. If any of us has seen a line up on TV, it's always made through the glass. Therefore, I LOVE the reflections of the pencils. Wonderfully framed and high humor impact. I could hang this on my wall. I even like how the "culprit" has different hair. Excelent shot, 1 of 6 10's this week. Good luck with the challenge.
08/19/2002 09:50:00 AM
Very creative, im sure its #2 too, you can tell he's been around
08/19/2002 05:52:00 AM
This one made me laugh even before it fully loaded. Incredibly creative! Great job!
08/19/2002 05:50:00 AM
First off, this made me laugh… It's not easy to get humour from a pencil. You have also executed the shot with technical aplomb. It's clear from the forensic evidence of the 'slightly worn rubber' that #2 did it, and, when kicked, sorry, cautioned, admitted to the heinous deed :) I think this shot, for inventiveness and wit alone gets high marks. Easy 10… Good luck…
08/19/2002 03:00:00 AM
Very original. I like it! Wish there would have also been a reflection of the other 3 pencils. Technically a good, clean shot. Will revisit later. Journey
08/19/2002 02:50:00 AM
cool this is a funny picture but maby the reflection of the firtst two pencils are a little bit to much
08/19/2002 02:46:00 AM
LOL. Very clever. Points for wit in photography. 6
08/19/2002 01:20:00 AM
OK took me about 5 minutes to realize that the 2 pencils "in" the background are the offcier and narator, VERY GOOD photo. 9
08/19/2002 01:09:00 AM
This is also a great picture. I like the reflection of the two that are examining the five "suspects"
08/19/2002 01:07:00 AM
hehe, thats so clever. and done very well too!
08/19/2002 12:45:00 AM
i love this...especially the reflection of the victims behind the glass!!
