This is a picture I took randomly, I adjusted the levels, of color and brightness. and resized. It will not do well because of the high contrast but I like the high contrast so o-well.

Greetings from the Critique Club
My first reaction to this shot I notice the good use of selective desaturation and the red running through the image. Second I looked harder for a point of interest that ties the subject into the scene somehow and I don't see that as much. The reds show a continous theme but most likely doesnt have enough interest to get higher votes. When I think of street photography I like to see something unexpected or a play between the subject and its environment. That is just my personal opinion.

I really like the snow through the shot, although as commented already, with your choice of editing the snow seems to blend into the desaturated areas and could be missed by those quick viewer/voters. I really like the editing and although many of the whites are bright and black very dark I feel it was the best choice for this image, the subject is really well placed and are a strong focus in the image. The pole on the right really give a nice natural border.

I wish the edge of the truck was not cut off, if it wasn't saturated I think it would have been less of an issue for me, but since it is the largest colored object in the scene, it was probably dinged a point by most voters IMO. If I was shooting this person I may have waited to try som alternate shots of what she does, maybe crossing the street to see a different background, or get some more action, or just to see what else comes up.
I hope this helps out somewhat and if you have any questions or comments feel free to send me a PM :)
Joe

I think this is a lovely shot. I gave it an 8, and expected it to score higher. Great composition. ;)

I really like the scene you captured here, but I can't see the snow. I think that your use of selective coloring and desaturation sort of blended it all together. I'd also like it better without the pickup truck in the background, or at least without the arse end chopped off. I think that the selective coloring would have worked much better without it in the frame. The red in the truck pulls the eye away from your subject.

Nice colours, however I feel the truck is imposing on the shot& perhaps it would have been better left dull.

whites seem a bit hot. seems like an everyday street corner...not sure i understand your intent.

The selective desat adds interest in this photo.

Really like your shot, and the editing involved. The B&W mixed with the slight coloring is very nice. Good composition as well. Nice work.

Your subject is looking the wrong way (away from the subject). Otherwise I like the photo and composition.
