Think this will score about a 5.2 if I am lucky, I am honestly expecting even lower and would not be surprised to see this in the 4.xxxx range. No fault to the models though, they were great. Some of you might recognize the girl, her name is Elísabet and that is her boyfriend, Sævar. Just the weather/light wasnīt cooperating, not that I blame that, I should have known better and scheduled the photoshoot on another time of day or just taken the photos indoors in the studio. Photoshoot took about an hour and first it was cloudy, then foggy, then steam, then rained, then snowed, then strong sunlight (as in this photo) and then cloudy again right after we decided to call it quitīs for the day.

Only lighting is direct sunlight from behind and a gold reflector for fill lighting.

Donīt think I have ever spent as much time post processing a basic editing photo and really really really wanted to use advanced editing but I sat on the urge to do so, I had other plans for this in post processing but using the basic editing tools, this is the best I could do.

I used photomatrix for the first time ever to tone map the photo and tried tweaking it as much as possible, took me a while and still not happy with the results, would have wanted to to this manually but of course couldnīt since itīs basic editing. Then a lot of shadow/highlights adjustments in small steps, curves for contrast, very slight adjustment with replace color to try and darken the dress that was too bright for my taste. Channel mixer for b/w conversion, hue/saturation for sepia toning and finally sharpened and added frame after resizing. Wanted to add grain to the shot with a filter but not sure that was legal and too late to ask the SC if it is so didnīt want to take the chance, thought the photo looked better with grain though.

Great shot Larus, love the DOF and setup here. For the type of problems you were describing its a hell of a good shot. Congrats on top 5.

This just barely inched over your average, which is amazing since it finished in 6th place!

intriguing and perhaps slightly worrying image. It certainly creates a tension.

Nice. Razer sharp focus on the models, I'd almost prefer a little more fill light, but very striking image.

Interesting and yet creepy shot. The DOF is pretty cool and the models just downright odd. 7 for now.
