Wow, I just logged in to have a look and see a yellow ribbon. Thanks so much for the votes and lovely comments. Originally when I went out on this very cold night it was to take a shot of bad weather. There was a father and son going for a walk up the trail both looking so cold and like they were going to be blown away by the winter wind that I took the shot. When I got home I just cropped out dad. I thought that seemed like a really bad childhood fear, being left alone in the cold and dark, at least it was for me and I see others can relate as well. Anyway just wanted to thank everyone so much, this is just great!!
Sue

Very powerful image. The elements, alone, night, and blowing snow make it connect with the viewers emotions. The single light from the right is just perfect for the effect.

i think this is the most powerful image of the series. the time elapsed and use of moonlight works well with the cold and desolation. well done.

Nice image, but your post processing has ruined it. It's waaaaaaaaaaay too over-sharpened.

Pretty funky image. Looks heavily neat imaged with the softness and halo, but upon looking at it longer the halo works for this. It seems to give some definition on the subjects of the image that may have just been lost with it all being as dark as it is. Overall this has a surreal feel to it. Not sure how itwill score overall but I am giving it a 7 for now.

may be too much neat image (if you used it)
