Location: Trail, BC
Date: Jan 29, 2007

Or maybe it should be called "reiteration" :)

Shot RAW, on tripod, Manual mode, indoors, artificial light (shop light and room light) helped with one little gold reflector. Drops are pure water (no glyceryn).

Converted in PSCS3 (most adjustments were done in the RAW converter - I decided to try all the cool sliders).

In PSCS3:
- rotated canvas 90 degrees CCW
- cropped
- ran through noise reduction (NN)
- adjusted curves in an adjustment layer, normal blend
- adjusted shadow/highlights
- flattened image
- used adjustment layer for selective colours, normal blend
- resized
- sharpened
- used Noise Ninja to even out
- used variations for final colour/light dark adjustment
- saved for web

As i get ready to find a subject for SDOF V I looked in your portfolio and found this gem. I love how the green stem's 'fuzz' is so crisp and then all oof except for that one petal .. perfectly photographed.

This is it. This is my benchmark. Well done. Even the characteristics that might be considered flaws by some only enhance the overall image.

Usually, I can't stand flower pictures. I've seen too many of them!
But this. This is just beautiful! Stunning! I absolutly love the blaze of colors, and the shallow DOF just makes this photo. Completely different from the typical flower shot. I love this photo! GREAT job! :)

I was so wrong on this one.
There was another shot in the challenge I was sure that was yours.
Guess imitation is the highest form of flattery though.
This is gorgeous by the way, but then you already knew that - congrats on the Honorable Mention Ursula.

This shot is beautiful, has it all, focus, minimal depth of field, bokeh and it is colorful and eyecatching. Great shot good luck 10

WOW! what lense was that shot with? 10

I like the razor thin DOF with the sharp focus on the droplets however the base of the flower is also in focus and takes away from the overall effect of the image. The image may still work if that part were cropped out.
