Portrait of my dad. Always wanted an opportunity to shoot him...and he makes for such a willing subject.

yes. yes i like it a lot. a busy-ish scene, but still fits the minimalist bill quite nicely. don't listen to those who tell you not to cut his feet off :)

Nicely done. On of my top picks.

I just love the way I find the subject and lose him again, find him and lose him again. that kind of struggle keeps the photo endlessly interesting. 9

nice B&W - 7

His head blends rather closely with the wall. It's a nice rugged look overall.

suject gets lost in front of this stone wall... not enough contrast...

Excellent Contrast and clarity...9

I wish you didn't cut the feet. But other than that, this is one good capture. Composition, lines and textures are great. Good luck.

Interesting contrast

I like this ... wish the feet weren't cut off.

There was a bit too much going on here for me to think of this as minimal. I also wish the model had been a bit more to the right, so that his hair didn't get lost on the left side (as you look at him) in the brick.

I really like the portrait, I just don't really see this as "minimal". Nice photo though. - 7

A nice subject and a nice backdrop. I don't quite like the cut off feet. Also, I'd move the person slightly to the left. 6

How did you achieve such contrasty B&W? Did you use in-camera B&W conversion?

I love the sharpness, b and w and the detail and textures, but I wish you didn't amputate the feet...7

Needs more contrast to set the man off from the background.

VERY nice. ONe of the most interesting of the challenge.
