Well ... I had this concept in my mind and it took me some time to figure out how to achieve it within Basic Editing Rules. I figure a LOT of people may not believe I stayed within the rules so I guess I better keep the original REAL handy. Basically I set up my camera to look through the door of my living room onto the inside of our high security front door. Small halogen table lamp (shaded) on the floor, streetlights lighting the rippled glass from the outside. Then I set the camera to f8 for DOF and hit the time-delayed shutter (with a shutterspeed of 1.3 secs to give me a slightly underexposed shot). Then I stepped forward and held my hands in place in the middle of the field. Immediately after the shutter snapped I yanked my hands away to give them a partly exposed ghostly appearance. After a LOT of tries, this is what I got.

Monochrome channel mixer overall
Dark Blue fill adjustment layer overall in normal mode
Light Green fill adjustment layer overall in normal mode

Nice capture of a crazed feeling! The technique is great, too. I used a similar method to get a ghostly presence in my Entrance shot.

This is a very emotive shot! I absolutely love it. I would imagine this is how it feels to have a mental illness. I know that depression sometimes makes me feel this way. On another note... I wouldn't put the rules used in the title. There are many people who will deduct points for that and that might have hurt you here. IMHO, this should have scored higher.
