I never expected this to Ribbon, especially after a wildlife competition.

I used curves to bring out the deers from the mist. And added a gradient overlay on the top. Increased contrast. Neatimaged the grain caused by the curves. Sharpened , cropped and added border.

They certainly were "duking it out" as u put it. I wanted to capture them pretty symetrically, so this is the best timing IMO.

With regards to the crop - possibly a little too much

I am impressed with the warmth of this photo and the quality of the silhouettes. I agree with many others who have commented that it's hard to get tired of these photos - majestic animals that are incredibly photogenic.

Only two qualms with the photo: the first is the vertical cropping seems oh-so-slightly harsh. I would've liked a deeper vertical dimension. The other complaint is a bit more trivial - the title doesn't really seem to fit as the two look more like they're grazing in each other's proximity than duking it out.

Every year when we go to the mountains, I'm always in search of the perfect elk photo. I've never been sure just what that is. . .but I hink now I know! Wow! What a breathtaking photo!

With the subject matter and light, this has to be Alex. Really like how the background is present here and complimenting the subject, but not taking away from it. Excellent!
