 My mother-in-law, sister-in-law, her husband and my father-in-law celebrate as the happy couple leave for their honeymoon. Shot in available light.

Some times everything just falls in to place (even though I had to jump through a window and run to get into the right place for what I saw might be happening) There's talk about being in the right place at the right time, but really you need to be in the right place just before the right time - for once I saw it coming.

It is one of the few really genuine pictures I've taken. The fact that the lighting and framing (it is totally uncropped too) all just fell in to place, along with me knowing how to be there, use the camera properly and capture this moment for my family, just makes it the best picture I've ever been lucky enough to see come up on a screen. I got chills looking at it the first time. It just makes me smile.

It has also pushed me towards doing more portraiture and really inspired me to start shooting more again.

Frankly, this is one of the shots in this challenge I really expected to finish at least in the top 20. Knowing the voters and their never ending search for the eye candy wow shots, this finished pretty good, even though they probably never sat and absorbed the life that shines in this image.
Certainly one of your very best ever Gordon!

amazing what your heart can do to assist your eyes in viewing a photograph, isn't it? The emotion in this makes a little spot in the bottom left corner of my brain tingle. it's not a part of my brain that gets used very often.

what an incredible moment you've captured. this is definitely the type of image that will make all her married friends jealous that they didn't have you shoot their wedding, and, hopefully, will make all her unmarried friends want you to shoot theirs! excellent work, hope you're already booked solid for this year.

Usually I wouldn't be much for wedding shots in challenges, but this shot just radiates energy and it's such a perfect candid shot. Very beautiful. I give you a 9.

fantastic candid. It's actually the woman on the left that gives this a sense of authentic spontaneity, since she seems to be reacting to the rest of it. And the woman in the front adds a surprising note of beauty at the last moment. 8

You nailed this one! It almost looks like you put a tiny bit of softness via gentle gaussian blur on the left to soften the ladies while keeping the guys (in the same field of focus) sharp. If so, well conceived. If not, looks great anyhow. It's early yet, but tossing my first 9 at this one.

Hahaha yeah it's all hugs and laughs and good times then it's about the toilet seat being left up and the shoes left all over the frigging house and 'you watch too much damn football'. Look at the old man, he knows. HE KNOWS. You can see it in his eyes.
