Challenge: Battle Of The Sexes (Advanced Editing V)

I was trying to come up with a cool b&w image for the b&w portrait challenge, but it was too last minute and I missed the deadline by 15 minutes. Then I realized this is a perfect fit for the battle of the sexes challenge. Especially with the "women are from Venus" comment.

Anyways, this is my sweet Wife who let me interrupt her knitting to do some crazy shots. For editing I just adjusted curves slightly and resized the image to fit in the challenge parameters. I hope you like it.

Ouch, what a bomb... Sorry for not being obvious enough about the topic. The challenge stated "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus" so I figured it was funny... Guess not.

Also found out my monitor must be brighter than all of yours because it should not be so dark. Oh well, you live and you learn.

I like the idea but fail to see how it meets the challenge.

I don't get it at all. Try again.

A tad bit too dark for my taste.

Battle of the sexes? I don't get the connection with this image.

I don't understand this image and its relationship to the challenge. I just don't get it.

I really don't get how this has to do with battle of the sexes... unless it's tring to say that women are crazy. As far as technicals, it's much too dark.

If the face was better lit, than there would be more depth. Tonal values are dark. The red wave is now not well integrated in the scene. Like the creativity though.

I don't see how this meets the challenge...

I don't get it.

This one doesn't hit a cord with me for some reason, maybe it's the lighting. . .

This explains a lot!

I love it! I think a little more light on the face would make it better, but this is cool and funny! Well done.

too dark

Image lighting is way too muddy. Darkness upon darkness with a flash of light painting that is bold. Unfortunately the expression is lost in the shadows and leaves me lacking a desire to come back to it.

Not sure how this fits, also too dark and the 'beam' too bright. Good Luck 3

I'm finding it difficult to see the challenge theme in this photo. A bit too dark. I like the trick and effect of red light on the subject's forehead though. I hope to learn to do this.

I don't get this one...Also, way too dark.

Just too dark. And yes, my monitor is calibrated.
