Millions of children in South Africa have been orphaned by AIDS, poverty and violence. This child is one of them. At the moment, he is being looked after well at a care home in central Johannesburg. But the survival of homes such as this is constantly threatened by lack of funds. They are always grateful for whatever help they can get.

Superb shot.
Only suggestion on this is to zoom way in and do a 1 or 2 pixel clone along the lower left side of his shirt sleeve and the bottom of the right side shirt sleeve to eliminate the halo.
Adding to my favorites - this tugs at my heart.

Very bold move with the proportions, and it obviously highlights the fact that this kid feels on his own, as he's the only thing in frame.
Great work with the vignetting also. I also like the strong contrast and bold saturation on the boy.
Brilliant.

Stunning. I'm surprised I did not see this my first pass. I really like the elongated crop. Good luck!

extremely expressive face - you captured the little boy well. Not sure I like the vignetting but the image is an excellent portrait non-the-less.

Brilliant. I like that his clothes are too big and his expression is so somber. The lighting is a touch harsh, which only emphasizes his situation further. Perfect focus. I like the blurred squares in the background too. This is stunning.
