Thanks for the votes AND comments. I had set a goal a week ago to hit 50 comments during a challenge and I didn't expect it to happen on this one!

The last day to submit and still hunting for a compelling fence. It was foggy and wet(typical Jan weather) and I passed this fence covered with drops of water. Whoooaaaa, U turn and look more closely. Every barb in the whole fence row had a wonderful collection of drops. Took a couple and then found this little jewel with the nice arrangement of droplets. Shot away and wala! The lower half of the BG was a muddy field and the upper half was foggy with a small row of trees.

I was pretty heavy handed with the vignetting in RAW conversion and then burning in PP. I used two RAW conversions. ONe for the BG and another + version to get some detail in the dark parts of the wire. The tiniest breeze from a car passing by would shake the drops so also had to do a little aggressive USM, especially on the tiny web/drops top left.

The vignetting inspiration came from Eyewaves "Tension" entry.

I really enjoy the central composition and the slight vignetting on the edges of the frame which draw attention to the barb. The reflections on the water droplets along the web are also a nice leading line taking my eyes across the wire. Thanks for sharing.

Very cool image. Great color tones and the droplets really make this shot something special. My eyes would prefer a slightly sharper focus but, who cares, this is still one of my top 5. Back to bump you up to 9.

Could have been a WOW picture if not for the oversharpening. (7)

I would like to see a bit more off centered composition, where i can see more of the bigger drops to the left because they give this image its nice contrast nature - human. Still the color and weathered look is very nice. (vote=8)

addition of the web and water drops make this shot better than an ordinary close-up. i like the sepia tone, reflections in the drops a lot. 9

Very nice. I wonder if you used a spray bottle here. I think a bit of a skew from horizontal and not so exactly centered would have made me give it a 9 instead of an 8.
