Camera: Pentax *ist DS
Lens: Sigma 18-125mm f/3.5-5.6 DC for Pentax

I spent new years eve at a Music Festival at Woodford in Queensland. The night involved a lot of drinking, and dancing to everything from a band along with 15 000 revellers to a bunch of guys with bongo drums in a makeshift tent cafe.

I stayed up all night with my girlfriend and a few friends, then made a pilgramage up the nearest hill to watch the sun-rise over the glass house mountains while an old indian guy played a sitar. This is the first light of 2007.

Processing was done exceptionally quickly - I converted from RAW, did a quick curves adjustment, resized (erroneously adding an jet-average border along the way) and hit submit with perhaps 30 seconds to spare.

Wow...just found this.

Alcohol, sleep deprivation and photography seems to agree with you.

A grand scene. The light, the fog, the landscape all work to make this image captivating. The border is ok. It sets the image apart from the white webpage background. Good Job, and happy new year! Great start!

Heheh.... it's hard to be TOO hungover when you haven't gone to sleep yet :).

What a spectacular photo. What a pity about the frame. It might cost you a ribbon. My highest score sofar 9

Very moody. Makes me wish I could see it bigger so I could enjoy all the little bits of detail sticking out of the mist. A cracker. Well worth getting up for!

This is such a gorgeous shot. I think the border actually detracts from it, somehow...I think perhaps a lightly blurred or softened edge...maybe a burned one...would have been a better choice. But I still rate this a solid 9.
