Taken at a horse farm in Buchanan, VA. I stopped to take some shots of this beauty and after some close-ups and a few handfuls of fresh grass & clover, she decided to put on a galloping show for me. It was great! Wish I had been more \"ready\" for her performance though - she caught me off guard, so was only able to fire off a few before she calmed down again.

Great finish. I love these slow motion shots with the motion blur and believe it or not they are not easy to capture successfully. You nailed it. Hey I am going to have to step up my efforts a lot Jimmy, you are excelling, in fact I will have to hide my horses from you, you might embarass me LOL. Where are you located again :-). In fact I have only four pictures of myself with my horses all taken by non pros and pretty bad, would love some as I have had about 35 different horses over the past five years and 20 at the moment.

Horses do have very short spurts of energy so you have to be quick to capture their action or be prepared to sit around for hours until they get their next spurt of energy.

Normally I don't like images like this. I can make an exception. The colors are wonderful, and the capture spectacular. 9

This would have been excellent if the head wasn't blurred, and if the centre of focus was the head rather than the torso. I do like the way the legs are moving tho. Nice attempt - 7

Awww, gee. These horse pics will get to me every time. This beauty is caught nicely. Maybe just a little more room to run would bring this Wild Chestnut to the first tier. Still, It's a suberb shot. (wish it was mine)

Keep up your good work and you will finally nail the PERFECT running shot. I love the beautiful, wavy action in the tail. I only wish the face were more defined, but I like the way you captured the over-all essence of speed.
