 Chocolate is one of the most appealing browns I can think of! This particular cookie was baked by one of my daughters on our Christmas Cookie Marathon Baking Day, from my mom's recipe. I licked the kiss to get it to pick up the light better, so of course I *had* to eat the model after the session was over ;-)


Lit with a lamp to one side and speedlight on camera; -1.5 exposure compensation.

PP - not a lot: rotated, cropped, levels, curves on red to darken the Hershey's kiss, desat/darkened on blue/green range to blacken background more, resized, sharpened

Hmmm, yum! I just finished making a batch myself. :-) Nice closeup...I wonder if mine have cooled down enough to "taste-test" - you've made me hungry for one. Good lighting too.

Mmmm...my mom makes those, and they are very good! Especiallly right when they come out of the oven and the chocolate is still soft...nice lighting.

Ok, the brown is good. But the lighting is very harsh, uneven and it looks oversharpened.

Typically at DPC, food doesn't look really good because people don't control their white balance well. This actually looks edible (trust me, I mean that as a compliment). DOF works well, I like the composition for the subject. 7
