Just a snapshot on the way to work.

Not experimental editing in any way, single shot, just levels, options, default, neat image and a little sensor dust cleanup.
Manual exposure mode, ND4 gradient, 38mm focal length

I wanted to do an all-out multiple image composite thing, but this was too good to not enter, and wonder how many will think it was heavily edited / cloned-in birds.

This was taken very near sea level by the way.
Here is where I took the shot from:

Thanks to all for the great comments and the favorites on this one.
I was somewhat disappointed in the 74% score on this, as it is truly one I love.

My absolute favorite of the challenge! So gentle and beautiful. To me, this kind of image makes photography worth it.

Hey, it matches your shot "Solo." :) And despite your concern, you got a 6.3 after all. :)

Where do you work that you get to look across at mountaintops?

Man, this is so incredibly underrated. You should have photoshopped an aurora. :P

Stunning photo! I might like to see this with the blue saturated a bit more, but still a fantastic job!

How STUNNING! If ever there was a beautiful wall-hanging, this is it! I love the effect of the perfectly crisp birds in the sky! 10

I love the simple softness of this shot and the great gradient in the sky. Back to bump you up to 9.

This one is interesting to look at. I would have liked the birds to be larger on the frame. The dot on the left side should have been cloned out. The mountain peak really sets the scene for me.

I wish the colors were a bit saturated as they are at such altitude. good work.

Neat idea - would have liked to see the bird a little bigger - maybe a bigger view of the image would help

I really like this minimalistic feel. This is my second favorite of the challenge, and I hope it does very well. My only critique is the bird on the far left. It looks like a dust spec on my monitors, and I might have considered cloning that one out.
